A 10 años del iPhone original, Apple anunció sus nuevas versiones del iPhone. Que no son una, sino tres: iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus y iPhone X.

Smartphone manufacturers have been using very boastful smartphone names lately—everything from the HTC Droid Incredible to the Motorola Droid X (where X stands for extreme). Certainly with names such as these, expectations will be high. We've already taken a look at both of these phones and deemed them to be worthy competitors in today's smartphone market.

Samsung is following in line with this trend of offering a smartphone with a name that tends to evoke great expectations with its Captivate smartphone. As one of four smartphones in the company's Galaxy S line of devices, the Captivate boasts of a number of compelling features including a 1GHz processor, 4-inch screen, and a price that's a penny under $200...

It looks like “Smart Pad” is just the moniker for Toshiba’s product category, claims Netbook Italia. The site published new renders of the iPad-like Android device, now dubbed the Toshiba Folio 100, as well as a dock with Toshiba branding. It also posted some new specs to boot. So let’s get down to business and find out if this truly is an “iPad Killer.”

As of now, we haven’t heard anything straight from the horse’s mouth, but based on the supposed specs, it’s shaping up to be a real iPad killer. It boasts some features (below) that the Apple tablet doesn’t have and most likely will never have, such as a USB port or external memory slots. There is no wording on price yet, but you can expect it to be in the general range of the iPad.

The oft-rumored BlackBerry Bold 9800, also known as the Torch 9800, is believed to be the first device that will run BlackBerry 6. The 9800 is expected to have the same look and feel of most BlackBerry handsets, except that the face will slide up to reveal a physical keyboard similar to the Palm Pre. The 9800 would also have a touchscreen, but the handset may not come with SurePress technology, according to Chinese-language blog BlackBerry Time. SurePress is the oft-maligned tactile feedback touchscreen that debuted in the BlackBerry Storm. Other rumors peg the 9800 as having 4GB of internal storage and a 5-megapixel camera.

Intel today confirmed long-standing rumors by announcing that it will acquire the Wireless Solutions (WLS) unit of German firm Infineon for $1.4 billion. The move gives Intel a significant expansion into the market for smartphone chips as it continues to try to build interest in its own Atom platform for mobile and netbook devices.

Through this effort, Intel will pair WLS' best-in-class cellular technology with its core strengths to enable the delivery of low-power, Intel-based platforms that combine its applications processor with an expanded portfolio of wireless options -- bringing together Intel's leadership in Wi-Fi and WiMAX with WLS' leadership in 2G and 3G, and a combined path to accelerate 4G LTE.

The acquisition is notable for Apple, as the company has long eschewed Intel's offerings for its mobile devices in favor of ARM-based technology. Infineon's wireless unit has, however, supplied the baseband controller for supporting cellular connectivity in every generation of the iPhone.

While Intel and Apple have been key partners on the Mac platform since Apple began moving away from the PowerPC platform with the release of the Mac Pro in 2006, the two companies have not seen fit to work together on the mobile side of things. Intel has in the past been critical of the iPhone's use of ARM-based processor technology, claiming that any device seeking to access the "full Internet" needs to be based on Intel's technology.

t’s a new week, and with that comes a new batch of Apple rumors. This time we’ve got more hints about the forthcoming Apple TV (or is it “iTV”) and what could be a new iPod touch screen.

First, Digg co-founder Kevin Rose has been chatting up the new Apple TV. According to Rose, it will be launched in September and “change everything.” He says that we can expect iOS apps, a la carte offerings from the major networks (goodbye, cable bill) and MobileMe picture and video sharing.

The whole thing will interact with a remote control app on other iOS devices. He’s pretty much in keeping with Engadget’s report. We’re starting to feel quite secure that the future Apple TV will run iOS apps.

In other news, M.I.C Gadget has posted picturesof what it claims to be the front LCD and bezel for the 4th generation iPod touch. Labeled “Apple (c) 2010″, the part bears a small hole near the top bezel that could conceivably allow a front-facing camera to peek through. It looks like the real deal to us. A front-facing camera on the iPod touch wouldn’t be a surprise at this point.
